Arvind Bellad, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, has officially called upon the Chief Secretary to launch an immediate inquiry and take decisive action against government officials. He alleges that a recent public program in Hubballi, originally funded by taxpayers, was improperly converted into a political event by the Congress party.
In a statement shared on social media, Mr. Bellad accused Congress leaders of ‘hijacking’ the taxpayer-funded function. He highlighted several irregularities: the presence of party banners on stage, the recitation of the Quran at a government event, and officials reportedly acting as party functionaries rather than adhering to official protocol. Specifically, he named Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Commissioner Rudresh Ghali and Zilla Panchayat CEO Bhuvanesh Patil, asserting that their participation resembled that of party guests instead of maintaining strict government impartiality. Bellad labeled this as a grave violation of administrative ethics and a blatant misuse of public resources.
