The ancient Hasanamba Temple flung open its revered doors on Thursday, October 9, 2025, marking the highly anticipated commencement of the Hasanamba Jatra Mahotsava. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Revenue Minister Krishna Byregowda, alongside esteemed elected representatives and senior district officials.
This sacred festival offers a rare opportunity for devotees to have a ‘darshan’ of the deity, as the temple remains closed throughout the rest of the year. With the festival scheduled to conclude on October 23, lakhs of worshippers are expected to visit this revered site.
Following a series of time-honored customs and rituals, officials from the Revenue Department officially unlocked the doors of the Muzrai Temple. Inside, the deity, uniquely symbolized by a cluster of three anthills, was meticulously adorned with exquisite ornaments by a dedicated team of priests, ensuring all traditions were upheld.
Minister Krishna Byregowda, who also oversees the Hassan district, personally oversaw the comprehensive arrangements made by the district administration to facilitate the pilgrims. He issued clear directives to the officers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining an orderly flow of devotees to ensure a seamless experience. Public access to the temple will begin on the morning of October 10.
A notable improvement this year is the introduction of a streamlined entry system for VIPs and golden pass holders. This thoughtful measure aims to significantly reduce waiting times for general public queues, allowing for a more efficient and pleasant visit for everyone. VIP and pass holders will have dedicated time slots for their visits.
Among those present during the ceremonial temple opening were local MLA K.M. Shivalinge Gowda, Deputy Commissioner K.S. Lathakumari, SP Mohammed Sujeetha, and other key administrative personnel, all working together to ensure the success of the Hasanamba Jatra Mahotsava.
