Basavakalyan in Bidar district is set to host the magnificent three-day Kalyana Parva Utsav Vishwa Shantigagi, a significant socio-religious convention, kicking off this Friday. This grand event, meticulously organized by the Basava Dharma Peetha Trust, promises a rich tapestry of cultural and spiritual activities.
Addressing a recent press conference in Kalaburagi, R.G. Shetgar, the district president of the Rashtriya Basava Dal, announced that the 24th annual convention will be ceremonially inaugurated by Forest, Environment, and Ecology Minister Eshwar B. Khandre. Following the opening ceremony, an insightful seminar specifically tailored for women will take place, fostering dialogue and empowerment.
Saturday’s proceedings will commence with a profound Sharana Vandane and Sharanarige Sharanarthi. During this session, devotees of the revered philosopher Basaveshwara will gather to offer their respects to all 770 Sharanas, acknowledging their groundbreaking revolutionary spirit and their enduring contributions to social reform.
Later in the day, Excise Minister R.B. Timmapur will inaugurate a seminar titled ‘Dharma Chintane,’ delving into spiritual and philosophical discussions. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy and Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi are also expected to grace the occasion as chief guests, adding to the convention’s prestige.
The afternoon will feature a spirited Rashtriya Basava Dal Samavesha, inaugurated by Bidar MP Sagar E. Khandre. The evening will culminate with Minister Eshwar Khandre inaugurating ‘Samaj Chintane,’ another thought-provoking seminar focusing on societal reflections.
On Sunday, the final day, former Minister P.G.R. Sindhia will lead a vibrant procession. This procession will beautifully showcase a portrait of the eminent social reformer Basaveshwara, accompanied by captivating tableaus that depict the profound wisdom of Vachana Sahitya.
