Kodagu district is making impressive strides in Karnataka’s vital Social and Educational Survey, achieving a remarkable 77.86% completion rate. To ensure every household is accurately represented, government school holidays have been extended, allowing for dedicated efforts in data collection across the state.
While dedicated survey personnel are actively visiting homes, residents also have the convenient option to complete the survey independently. Citizens can easily submit their information online, eliminating the need to wait for an enumerator.
Accessing the online portal is straightforward. Users simply select ‘citizen’ and log in with their mobile number, receiving a one-time password for verification. The platform then displays the survey status for their household – whether it’s completed or still awaiting details. If pending, a clear prompt guides them to ‘start new survey’ to input their family’s information.
To streamline the process, participants will need to enter the unique UID number found on their household sticker. Having essential documents like ration cards, Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and any relevant disability certificates ready will ensure a smooth and quick survey experience.
Upon successful completion and submission, a confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number, as confirmed by A.S. Deepak, District Officer for the Backward Classes Welfare Department in Kodagu.
Emphasizing convenience and accuracy, Deepak stated that residents are encouraged to take the initiative and complete the survey online themselves, rather than waiting for field workers. This self-declaration method ensures their household’s social and economic information is precisely captured.
Across 1,131 blocks in the district, the survey has successfully reached 104,644 out of a target of 134,396 households, marking a substantial 77.86% completion.
A breakdown of progress by taluk reveals consistent effort: Kushalnagar has surveyed 26,819 households out of 34,637 across 304 blocks; Madikeri reports 25,610 households surveyed from 35,127 across 264 blocks; Ponnampet achieved 8,743 completions out of 10,337 in 87 blocks; Somwarpet completed 24,428 out of 29,402 households across 266 blocks; and Virajpet stands at 19,044 households surveyed from 24,893 in 210 blocks.
