On Wednesday morning, October 8th, the Pune Racecourse was alive with activity as several prominent thoroughbreds took to the track for their exercise routines. Among them, Zacharias, Duke Of Tuscany, Dedication, and Midnight Express truly shone, putting on impressive displays that have caught the attention of racing enthusiasts.
Inner Sand Workouts:
600m Section:
The 600-meter dash saw some sharp efforts. Skandha, under T.S. Jodha, moved with effortless grace, clocking 38 seconds. Johnny Mac, ridden by Nazil, also showed an easy pace at 38 seconds. However, Fighton, with Parmar in the saddle, truly excelled, posting a quick 35 seconds. Amadeo (Akram) worked well with a time of 36 seconds, while Foxy, piloted by T.S. Jodha, moved fluently at 39 seconds.
800m Section:
The 800-meter segment featured a larger field, with several horses showcasing their prowess. Between Lands (P. Dhebe) pleased with a 49-second run, completing the 600m in 37. Dreamer (Parmar) moved fluently at 54 seconds (600/39). The standout performer here was Midnight Express, expertly guided by Ranjane, who excelled with a swift 48 seconds, including a 36-second split for the 600m. Cellini (Mosin) looked attractive at 49 seconds (600/36), and La Dolce Vita (Mosin) moved well at 50 seconds (600/37). Talking Point (S.J. Sunil) worked freely at 51 seconds (600/38), and Turn And Burn (Ranjane) delivered an impressively smooth run at 49 seconds (600/36). Baleno (Bhawani) was slightly urged to finish at 51 seconds (600/38). Easy paces were noted for Kavya (Parmar) at 56 (600/41), South Beach (P. Dhebe) at 56 (600/42), Regal Command (Bharat) at 57 (600/42), The Flutist (Merchant) at 53 (600/39), Kimiko (Bharat) at 55 (600/41), Hazel (Sai Kiran) at 55 (600/41), and Snowfall (S.G. Prasad) at 57 (600/42). Red Mist (Nirmal) moved well at 51 seconds (600/37), and Jaisalmer (Vikram) worked commendably at 50 seconds (600/37). In a joint effort, Lord Murphy (Aditya) and Lion King (app) were level at 56 seconds (600/41). Two-year-olds Chilton Lodge (Gore) and Radiant Reign (N. Bhosale) also finished level at 53 seconds (600/39). Cascade (T.S. Jodha) had an easy run at 55 seconds (600/42).
1000m Section:
Over the 1000-meter distance, Fortunate Son (P. Dhebe) worked freely, clocking 1-7 (800/52, 600/39). Exciting (Vivek G) and Duesenberg (Trevor) moved together freely, also finishing at 1-7 (800/52, 600/39). Christofle (Trevor) started three lengths behind Eagle Day (Vivek G) but impressively made up the ground to finish level, both recording 1-5 (800/51, 600/39). Solidarity (A. Prakash) moved freely at 1-6 (800/52, 600/39). Dream Seller (Ajinkya) moved nicely with a time of 1-5 (800/50, 600/37). Magical Star (Pranil) and Juracan (S. Kamble) ran neck and neck, both finishing freely at 1-4 (800/50, 600/37). Red Dust (Nazil) worked well, completing the distance in 1-5 (800/51, 600/39).
1200m Section:
The Milennium Force, with Ajinkya aboard, shaped well over 1200 meters, posting a time of 1-20 (1000/1-5, 800/50, 600/37).
1400m Section:
In the 1400-meter workout, Zacharias (Trevor) demonstrated superior form, starting three lengths behind Brasilier (A. Prakash) but effortlessly finishing four lengths ahead. Their times were 1-35 (1200/1-20, 1000/1-6, 800/51, 600/38). Constable (Vivek G) also put in a good effort, working well to clock 1-37 (1200/1-22, 1000/1-7, 800/52, 600/39).
1600m Section:
The longest distance, 1600 meters, saw Duke Of Tuscany (Vivek G) maintain an easy pace while Dexterity (Neeraj) was urged, yet both ended level, finishing at 1-50 (1400/1-35, 1200/1-20, 1000/1-6, 800/52, 600/39). Dedication (Trevor) had a particularly noteworthy run; starting four lengths behind Rosario (Vivek G), Dedication impressively closed the gap to finish level. Their collective time was 1-49 (1400/1-34, 1200/1-19, 1000/1-5, 800/51, 600/38), with Dedication’s performance being particularly highlighted.
