Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay has initiated contact with the families who suffered tragic losses in the September 27 stampede during his rally in Karur. The incident, which occurred during a public gathering, resulted in the deaths of 41 individuals.
Sources confirm that Mr. Vijay began making video calls to the bereaved families on Monday evening (October 6, 2025), conveying his deepest sympathies.
For instance, Vijay spoke with K. Sakthivel of Emoor Pudur, who lost both his wife Priyadarshini (35) and daughter Dharanika (14) in the unfortunate event. Mr. Sakthivel recounted, “Vijay expressed that the loss was unbearable and shared his profound sorrow. He assured me he would visit us in person soon.” He added that the conversation lasted approximately two minutes, and party functionaries later informed him he could directly communicate any future needs during Vijay’s visit.
TVK’s Promised Relief Disbursement Soon
Mr. Sakthivel also mentioned that TVK representatives indicated an upcoming announcement regarding the distribution date for the relief amount pledged by the party.
Vijay also reached out to S. Sudhan of Pudupatti, Senthamangalam East, whose 22-year-old wife Brindha perished in the stampede. “He told me not to worry and promised to come personally soon,” Mr. Sudhan shared, noting the brevity of their call.
Other affected families also confirmed that TVK members had informed them of Vijay’s impending personal calls.
Party insiders revealed that a dedicated core team of TVK functionaries is orchestrating these video call interactions. They have respectfully requested the families to refrain from recording or photographing these private conversations.
