Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has issued a stern condemnation regarding a disturbing incident that occurred in the Supreme Court on Monday. The Chief Minister expressed outrage over a lawyer allegedly throwing a sheaf of papers at Chief Justice of India B. R. Gavai.
In a forceful statement, Mr. Siddaramaiah called for the immediate arrest of the responsible lawyer and demanded stringent legal action for what he described as an insult to the nation’s top judge. He highlighted that Chief Justice Gavai, a distinguished member of the Dalit community, achieved his esteemed position through sheer merit and dedication. The Chief Minister underscored that such an incident painfully reveals the persistent challenge of caste-based inequality within society, even seven decades after the adoption of the Constitution.
