Pune Track Work: Star Performances from Between Lands and Shambala
This Monday morning (October 6), the Pune track was alive with the thundering hooves of racehorses undergoing their morning exercises. Among the many impressive displays, two names truly stood out: Between Lands and Shambala, both showcasing exceptional form.
Inner Sand Workouts
600 Meters:
- Starseed, guided by T.S. Jodha, moved effortlessly, completing the distance in a comfortable 38 seconds.
- The two-year-olds Mystica (with Sandesh) and Lion Heart (under Gore) matched strides perfectly, clocking an even 40 seconds.
800 Meters:
- Skandha (T.S. Jodha) and Liam (Omkar) maintained a smooth, level pace, finishing in 53 seconds with a 600m split of 38.
- Whisper (Shelar) and Donatella (Bharat) also kept an even tempo, completing the distance in 55 seconds (600m in 40).
- Shambala, ridden by T.S. Jodha, delivered an impressive performance, clocking a swift 49 seconds for 800m, including a remarkable 36 seconds for the final 600m.
- Among the two-year-olds, Pro Bono (Gore) demonstrated superior agility, finishing three lengths ahead of Menorca (Sandesh) in 54 seconds (600m in 39).
- Aeon Flux (Nazil) showed excellent responsiveness, covering 800m in 49 seconds (600m in 37).
- The two-year-olds Snow Girl (Hamir) and Fiero/Evelyn Dancer (Shelar) had an easy run, finishing in 56 seconds (600m in 41).
- Cinderella’s Dream (Nazil) was urged in the final stretch, completing 800m in 50 seconds (600m in 37).
- Medusa (Merchant) moved freely, recording 51 seconds for 800m (600m in 38).
1000 Meters:
- Golden Heart (Gore) and All For Love (Yash) ran side-by-side without effort, finishing level in 1 minute 8 seconds (800m in 53, 600m in 40).
- Eastern Monarch (Sandesh) proved two lengths superior to Abhicandra (Gore), clocking 1 minute 5 seconds (800m in 50, 600m in 38).
- Abhyankar (S.J. Sunil) and Running Away (Yash) moved neck and neck freely, completing the distance in 1 minute 6 seconds (800m in 52, 600m in 39).
- Imperial Quest (S. Amit) showed two lengths of superiority over Valedictorian (Bharat), finishing in 1 minute 8 seconds (800m in 53, 600m in 39).
- Between Lands, with Yash aboard, strode out powerfully, finishing a considerable distance ahead of Hooves Of Thunder (S.J. Sunil) in an impressive 1 minute 4 seconds (800m in 50, 600m in 38).
- Dexterity (Neeraj) and Azalea (A. Prakash) worked freely together, completing 1000m in 1 minute 9 seconds (600m in 42).
- Neptune (Sandesh) demonstrated superior form over Amaze And Inspire (Nirmal), finishing in 1 minute 5 seconds (800m in 51, 600m in 38).
- Land Of Plenty (Ramswarup) was pushed in the latter part of the workout, finishing in 1 minute 5 seconds (800m in 51, 600m in 38).
- Pride’s Prince (Nirmal) was slightly urged, achieving 1 minute 7 seconds (800m in 52, 600m in 39).
- Eagle Day (apprentice) moved fluently, recording 1 minute 9 seconds (800m in 54, 600m in 41).
1200 Meters:
- Ekatarina (Neeraj) and Bright Button (Shelar) exercised together effortlessly, clocking 1 minute 22 seconds, with splits of 1 minute 7 seconds for 1000m, 53 for 800m, and 40 for 600m.
1400 Meters:
- Golden Kingdom (Santosh) and Viking (Vikram) ran freely side-by-side, completing the distance in 1 minute 37 seconds, with intermediate times of 1 minute 22 for 1200m, 1 minute 7 for 1000m, 52 for 800m, and 39 for 600m.
- Juracan (S. Kamble) had an easy gallop, finishing 1400m in 1 minute 41 seconds (600m in 43).
- Youreforfame (Zervan) and Magical Star (S. Kamble) also worked in close contention, recording 1 minute 35 seconds for 1400m, with splits of 1 minute 21 for 1200m, 1 minute 7 for 1000m, 53 for 800m, and 40 for 600m.
Gate Practice on Inner Sand
1000 Meters:
- Tyrone Power (Gore) moved freely, clocking 1 minute 11 seconds (800m in 55, 600m in 41).
- The two-year-old Nine Speed (Nazil) demonstrated a promising start, jumping out well to finish in 1 minute 6 seconds (800m in 52, 600m in 41).
- Brave Beauty (Bhawani) had a solid session, working well to achieve 1 minute 5 seconds (800m in 49, 600m in 37).
- Opus Dei (S. Amit) and Azure (Mosin) ran neck and neck freely, completing their gate practice in 51 seconds (600m in 39).
