The Telangana State government has announced that it will now consider requests from its employees for temporary transfers between local cadres. These transfers will be facilitated on a deputation basis, offering a flexible solution for staff.
Initially, these temporary transfers will be for a period of two years, with the possibility of extending them by an additional year, especially when employees face genuine hardship. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao confirmed this decision in an order released on Tuesday. He noted that the move comes after a Cabinet sub-committee, tasked with addressing employee issues arising from the implementation of GO 317, made this specific recommendation.
The sub-committee had specifically suggested that requests from employees experiencing hardship could be granted temporary inter-local transfers without altering their original local cadre. This is contingent on the availability of clear vacancies in the desired local cadre. The panel also proposed that such transfers could last for two to three years, allowing this opportunity to rotate among other eligible applicants. Ultimately, individual departments will be responsible for examining and approving these requests once the General Administration department provides detailed guidelines.
It’s important to note that this new arrangement is specifically for employees who were moved or transferred from their previous workplaces during the final allocation process, particularly those who did not receive any benefit or re-allotment in that exercise.
