The Communist Party of India (CPI) is buzzing with activity as it gears up for the grand closing ceremony of its centenary celebrations, scheduled for December 26, 2025, in Khammam. A preparatory meeting, held this past Sunday in Khammam, saw key party leaders discussing arrangements for the significant event. However, the discussions quickly turned political, with sharp criticisms directed at the central government.
K. Narayana, Chairman of the CPI Central Control Commission, didn’t hold back, launching a scathing attack on the BJP government. He accused the ruling party of cynically using GST reforms as a “bonanza” – a mere electoral gimmick – to influence upcoming Assembly elections across various states, including Bihar. Narayana further alleged that the BJP has a history of engaging in “vote theft” and has spent the last nine years prioritizing large corporate entities while simultaneously burdening ordinary citizens with GST.
The CPI leader articulated a pervasive sense of discontent among diverse segments of the population. He claimed this widespread unhappiness stems from what he described as the BJP’s “anti-democratic” and “fascist” leanings. This strong political stance sets the tone for what promises to be a highly charged centenary closing ceremony.
Also present and speaking at the meeting were CPI State Secretary and Kothagudem MLA K. Sambasiva Rao, alongside veteran party leader Puvvada Nageshwara Rao, signaling a united front ahead of the major event.
