A somber cloud has fallen over Kakinada district following the untimely demise of 29-year-old P. Ratna Kumari, merely hours after she welcomed twin sons into the world. The tragic incident occurred at the Government Area Hospital in Tuni, prompting the Kakinada District Collector, S. Shan Mohan, to swiftly order a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
Ratna Kumari, a resident of T. Timmapuram village, was admitted to the hospital on October 3rd. She underwent a cesarean section the following day, successfully delivering her twin boys. However, her condition unfortunately deteriorated, and despite the medical team’s best efforts to provide emergency treatment, she passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.
In an official statement, Collector Shan Mohan emphasized the seriousness of the situation. He confirmed that an inquiry has been initiated to meticulously examine the sequence of events. The investigation will specifically scrutinize the conduct of the doctors and staff involved in Ratna Kumari’s treatment at the Area Hospital, aiming to uncover the exact causes and any contributing factors leading to her death.
