In a heartwarming display of cultural pride, a stunning tableau representing the revered Sri Mahakali Mayakka Devi Temple from Belagavi district has triumphantly secured the third prize at the spectacular Dasara celebrations held in Mysuru.
This remarkable exhibit masterfully featured intricate three-dimensional images of Mayakka Devi herself, alongside a meticulously crafted replica of the ancient stone temple located in Chinchali village. The tableau became a highlight of the magnificent Dasara procession, captivating onlookers with its artistic detail.
This year’s grand procession was a vibrant spectacle, showcasing a total of 58 diverse floats. Among these were 31 unique presentations from various districts, eight from the State government, 13 from different corporation boards, and six other special entries.
Each tableau brought its own distinct charm and conveyed a unique message, making this year’s Dasara procession particularly memorable. It marked a historic occasion, being the first time such an extensive number of tableaux graced the event.
The award-winning creation was brought to life by a dedicated team of artists, skillfully led by B.S. Gasti. Their vision and hard work were clearly evident in every detail.
Reflecting on their success, Zilla panchayat CEO Rahul Shindhe expressed his delight, stating, “Our primary goal was to showcase the rich history and vibrant cultural heritage of Belagavi district through this tableau. We are thrilled that our collective efforts have yielded such wonderful recognition.”
The entire project, from its initial concept to its grand unveiling, was carefully managed and overseen by a committed team of officers, under the expert guidance of project director Ravi Bangarappanavar.
