Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) president, K. Pawan Kalyan, has issued a powerful directive to his party’s MLAs, MPs, and MLCs: brace yourselves for the local body elections slated for early next year. His core message is clear – ensure that the positive contributions of the coalition government translate directly into significant electoral gains.
During a recent JSLP meeting, Kalyan outlined key areas of focus. He stressed the importance of addressing fundamental public needs such as robust employment generation, efficient road construction, ensuring access to safe drinking water, and improving sanitation services across the state. To achieve optimal results, he advised elected representatives to strategically oversee five constituencies each, fostering strong collaboration with local party workers.
Furthermore, Kalyan urged party leaders to actively engage with the populace, particularly focusing on understanding and responding to the aspirations of youth and women. He highlighted their critical role in propelling Andhra Pradesh towards becoming a truly progressive state. To facilitate this connection, he recommended regular ‘Jana Vani’ (public outreach) programs in Assembly constituencies and district headquarters.
The JSP chief emphasized that leaders must travel extensively throughout their designated areas to gain firsthand insights into the challenges faced by ordinary citizens. This direct engagement, he believes, will empower the government to take timely and effective action while effectively communicating its development and welfare initiatives to the public.
In a move to streamline efforts, Kalyan mandated the formation of specialized committees within the legislature party. These committees are tasked with focusing on major issues and are expected to submit comprehensive reports within six weeks.
Addressing the specifics of the upcoming local polls, Pawan Kalyan called upon JSP cadres to commit themselves fully to contested areas. He underscored the importance of respecting the sentiments and collaborative spirit with candidates from alliance partners, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as they collectively enter the electoral fray.
