His tour included key areas like Venus Colony and T.T.K. Road, where the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is actively working. During his visit, the Chief Minister issued firm directives to authorities, underscoring the paramount importance of implementing all necessary precautionary measures to ensure public safety and project efficiency.
An official release confirmed that Mr. Stalin’s inspection extended to the ongoing replacement of drinking water pipes, a significant undertaking by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. This vital work is being carried out in neighborhoods such as Alwarpet and various sections of T.T.K. Road, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to upgrading the city’s essential utilities.
The Chief Minister’s thorough review also covered a wide array of other locations critical for the city’s drainage system. These included Jayammal Road, Elango Road Cross Street, Elango Road, Poes Road, Venkatarathinam Road, Rajakrishna Road, Nallan Poes Road, Varadharapuram Main Road, and Sriman Srinivasan Road, among others. His detailed oversight highlights the government’s commitment to bolstering Chennai’s resilience against potential flooding.
