The Election Commission of India (ECI) has wrapped up its critical two-day visit to Bihar, where it meticulously reviewed the state’s preparedness for the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections. Throughout their stay, ECI officials held extensive consultations with various political parties, culminating in a focused review of enforcement agencies on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Led by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alongside Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, a comprehensive meeting took place in Patna. This pivotal session gathered the heads and nodal officers of multiple enforcement bodies to ensure robust coordination and a commitment to conducting free, fair, and inducement-free elections across Bihar. Bihar Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Gunjyal and other senior officials from the Commission were also present, emphasizing the depth and thoroughness of the review process.
Following these vital assessments, the ECI is slated to host a press conference today, where significant announcements and further details regarding the Bihar polls are highly anticipated.
