In a deeply concerning development, authorities in Madhya Pradesh have apprehended a doctor from the Chhindwara district in connection with the deaths of eleven children. The children are reported to have succumbed to complications arising from the consumption of a contaminated cough syrup, identified as Coldrif.
According to reports from Times of India, the arrested doctor has been identified as Praveen Soni. Investigations suggest that Dr. Soni allegedly prescribed the Coldrif syrup to numerous children, many of whom had been receiving treatment at his clinic located in Parasia.
In addition to the doctor’s arrest, law enforcement agencies have initiated a case against the pharmaceutical company based in Tamil Nadu that manufactured the suspected cough syrup. The investigation is focusing on the potential contamination of the product, which is believed to be the cause of the tragic fatalities.
