The recent spectacular Dasara procession was a grand showcase of traditional arts, where the Mahalingeshwara Hulivesha troupe from Padu Bailooru, Udupi district, proudly secured the first prize for their captivating performance. This esteemed recognition came with a cash award of ₹15,000, celebrating their dedication and artistry.
In the Goravara Kunita category, the talented Sri Bhakta Kanakadasa Goravara Kunita Kala Sangha, hailing from Ramasamudra town in Chamarajanagar, was awarded the second prize, while Mysuru’s own Sri Sarapani Mailaralingeshwara Goravara troupe earned the third prize. The second-place winners received a cash prize of ₹5,000 for their impressive display.
Furthermore, in the vibrant folk dance segment, two exceptional Lambani dance troupes shared the third prize, each receiving ₹2,500. These were Paravathi Mallappa Sangoala and her troupe from Bidar, and Kamalibai and her troupe from Yadgir, both lauded for their energetic and culturally rich performances.
In total, the Dasara Tableaux Committee, under the leadership of Mysuru Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, announced and distributed prizes amounting to ₹30,000, highlighting the commitment to preserving and promoting these invaluable cultural traditions.
