In a heartwarming ceremony held on Saturday, October 4th, the Kozhikode City Police honored the inspiring winners of their ‘Commissioner’s Champions League,’ a pivotal part of their ongoing fight against drug abuse. Participants, recognized for their significant impact in combating substance abuse, received the coveted Commissioner’s Champions Trophy and other exciting prizes.
Throughout August 2025, schools and community groups rallied in solidarity with the police’s powerful ‘No Never’ anti-drug initiative. Among the top achievers were Parambil Government High School, Providence Women’s College, and Mazhavillu Residents’ Association, who each clinched first place in their respective categories for organizing the most impactful awareness programs and creative activities during the 30-day campaign.
The talent and dedication of young minds were particularly evident in the Student Police Cadets’ project report competition. Savio High School, Devagiri, showcased exceptional work, earning them the top spot. Providence High School secured a commendable second place, while St. Joseph’s Girls High School proudly took third.
The Commissioner’s Champions League also brought families together with an engaging quiz. The family of K.P. Sujaya from Sopanam House, Pavangad, demonstrated outstanding knowledge to win first place. Dr. Manu Varma and family, representing Azchavattom Residents’ Association, earned a well-deserved second, and the family of Bhagath from Snehadeepam Residents’ Association, Elathur, rounded out the top three.
The prestigious trophies and prizes were presented by District Police Chief (Kozhikode City) T. Narayanan. Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun K. Pavithran graced the event as chief guest, with Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Bijuraj, Sub Inspector Shibu Moodadi of the Social Policing Division, Assistant Sub Inspector Preman Muchukunnu, and Senior Civil Police Officer K. Raseena also in attendance to celebrate these community heroes.
