Get ready, Koppal! Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to arrive on Monday for a jam-packed day, officially opening a host of completed development projects and kicking off new initiatives. His visit will notably feature the grand inauguration of a state-of-the-art 450-bed teaching hospital building at the Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) on Gangavati Road. Accompanying the hospital, a new Dharmashala will also be opened, and the foundation stone for an upcoming super-specialty hospital will be laid, promising enhanced healthcare facilities for the region.
The Chief Minister’s itinerary extends beyond healthcare, as he will also inaugurate an Indira Canteen in Bhagyanagar, near Koppal, providing affordable meals to the community. Adding a cultural touch to his visit, he will unveil a statue honoring the revered saint-poet Kanakadasa, located conveniently near the Koppal Bus Stand.
In the afternoon, at 1:15 p.m., the Chief Minister will preside over a significant event at Agadi Layout on Hosa Pete Road. This program, a joint effort by the district administration, the Zilla Panchayat, and the Backward Classes Welfare Department, will see the formal inauguration of various completed development projects and the laying of foundation stones for future endeavors, collectively valued at an impressive ₹2,000 crore. During this ceremony, symbolic benefits from several departmental schemes will also be distributed to beneficiaries. The day’s official engagements are slated to wrap up at the district administration office.
Logistically, the Chief Minister will depart from Bengaluru’s HAL Airport aboard a special aircraft at 10:30 a.m., touching down at Koppal’s Ginigera Airstrip by 11:40 a.m. From there, he will proceed by road to the various event locations. His departure from Agadi Layout is scheduled for 4 p.m., reaching Ginigera Airstrip by 4:15 p.m. before boarding his special aircraft for a 4:25 p.m. return to Bengaluru, as detailed in an official press release from the Chief Minister’s Office.
