On Tuesday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin unveiled a significant scholarship initiative designed to support 2,000 Muslim students annually in their pursuit of higher education. Administered through the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board, this program will provide ₹10,000 to each eligible student enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, aiming to foster educational advancement within the community.

During the same event, Mr. Stalin underscored his commitment to economic development by virtually inaugurating four new industrial estates. These estates, developed by the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) at a total cost of ₹67 crore, are strategically located in Kaverirajapuram (Tiruvallur district), Muthur (Tirunelveli district), Kadambadi (Chengalpattu district), and Korukkai (Tiruvarur district). The Chief Minister also marked the opening of two private industrial estates—a brand-new facility in Maruthadu (Cuddalore district) and a revitalized one in Kittampalayam (Coimbatore district)—further expanding industrial opportunities.

Continuing his focus on modern infrastructure, Mr. Stalin virtually inaugurated a state-of-the-art common effluent treatment plant in Thirumudivakkam (Kancheepuram district) and a common facility center designed for the food processing cluster in Thiruchencode (Namakkal district). These additions are expected to enhance environmental sustainability and support local industries. Several dignitaries were present at the event, including Ministers M.R.K. Panneerselvam, T.M. Anbarasan, and S.M. Nasar; MP K. Navaskani, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, and other senior officials.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Stalin also led a ceremony in Guindy, Chennai, where leaders paid heartfelt tributes to the portrait of the late freedom fighter S.S. Ramasamy Padayatchi, honoring his enduring legacy.
