India on Friday, October 3, 2025, emphatically stated that Pakistan must be held responsible for the “horrific” human rights violations perpetrated against unarmed demonstrators in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
For some time, various regions within PoK have been rocked by extensive protests. Citizens are rising up, demanding fundamental rights, justice, and an end to what they describe as rampant systemic oppression.
Speaking on the matter, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal addressed the reports of unrest. “We have taken note of the widespread protests across several areas of Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, alongside disturbing accounts of brutal actions by Pakistani forces against innocent civilians,” Jaiswal stated.
He further elaborated, “We view this situation as a direct and inevitable consequence of Pakistan’s oppressive governance and its systematic exploitation and plundering of resources from these territories, which remain under its forceful and illegal occupation.”
Jaiswal’s remarks came in response to inquiries during his regular weekly media briefing.
Underscoring India’s stance, he concluded, “Pakistan must face accountability for its horrifying record of human rights violations.”
