During a recent press conference on Friday, October 3, 2025, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh highlighted India’s strategic success in ‘Operation Sindoor.’ He underscored that the swift conclusion of the conflict, once its objectives were achieved, offers a valuable lesson in effective military operations for the global community.
Speaking in anticipation of the upcoming Air Force Day, the Air Chief Marshal also announced the unveiling of ‘Roadmap 2047,’ a comprehensive plan designed to significantly bolster the force’s combat readiness and technological prowess.
Previously, it was reported that five Pakistani fighter jets and one additional aircraft were neutralized during Operation Sindoor.
He further elaborated that ‘Operation Sindoor’ served as a powerful demonstration of the seamless coordination and synergy among India’s three armed forces.
When questioned about the extent of Pakistan’s losses during the operation, the Air Chief Marshal confirmed undeniable evidence of a long-range strike that incapacitated one Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft and between four to five fighter jets.
Beyond aerial targets, he stated that Pakistan suffered significant damage to its ground infrastructure, including crucial radars, command and control centers, vital runways, and aircraft hangars.
This decisive action, ‘Operation Sindoor,’ was launched on May 7, directly in retaliation to the heinous Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. The objective was clear: to dismantle terror infrastructure located in areas under Pakistan’s control.
The initial strikes led to four intense days of military engagement, culminating in a mutual understanding on May 10 to cease further hostilities.
He had previously affirmed that ‘Operation Sindoor’ unequivocally demonstrated the Indian Air Force’s superior combat capabilities and exceptional operational coordination.
Addressing another inquiry, the IAF chief confirmed that all three branches of the armed forces have commenced collaborative work on the ambitious ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ air defense system.
This system aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s August 15 announcement of an indigenous air defense project, aimed at safeguarding India’s critical military and civilian assets and ensuring a definitive response against any hostile threats. When asked about further acquisitions of S-400 air defense missiles, the Air Chief Marshal sidestepped a direct answer but acknowledged the effectiveness and proven performance of the existing platform.
