Srisailam, a revered temple town, recently witnessed the magnificent celebration of Swarna Radhotsavam. The golden chariot festival honored the processional deities of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy, who were gracefully carried through the town in a truly grand spectacle.
Before their majestic journey, elaborate rituals were meticulously performed for Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy, including Mahanyasa Purvaka Ekadasa Rudrabhisekham and Annabhisekham, among other sacred pujas. During these heartfelt ceremonies, temple priests invoked divine blessings, praying for abundant rainfall, thriving crops, and enduring peace and prosperity throughout the nation.
The Radhotsavam commenced bright and early at 7:30 a.m., heralded by resonant Vedic chants. The Golden Chariot embarked on its route from Gangadhara Mandapam, proceeding to Nandi Mandapam before returning. The procession was a vibrant display of cultural heritage, featuring various traditional art forms. Troupes enchanted onlookers with energetic Kolatam performances, graceful folk dances, and soulful bhajans, adding to the spiritual fervor and communal joy of the celebration.
