A critical hearing concerning the disqualification petitions filed by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership against four of its MLAs, accused of defecting to the Congress party, concluded without a decision today. The next session is scheduled for October 4.
Legal representatives for the petitioners, including Chinta Prabhakar and Palla Rajeshwari Reddy, began the cross-examination of MLAs T. Prakash Goud and Kale Yadaiah earlier today. This intense questioning session extended late into the evening, meaning the other two MLAs, Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy and Gudem Mahipal Reddy, could not be examined.
Speaker G. Prasad Kumar, overseeing the proceedings, has adjourned the session to Saturday, October 4. During this upcoming session, the petitioners’ legal team will continue their cross-examination of the two legislators. The Speaker is expected to announce further hearing dates for the remaining four MLAs once this initial phase is finalized.
An intriguing question arises concerning the Speaker’s approach to MLAs Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari, both of whom have failed to respond to the official notices issued to them.
