A somber atmosphere has fallen over Palwal following a horrific road accident on Monday, September 15, 2025. A speeding car, reportedly driven by a head constable, tragically struck three young brothers who were walking home from school. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of two children, while the third sustained severe injuries.
Eyewitnesses and local residents quickly responded to the scene, managing to stop the car and apprehend the driver, identified as Head Constable Narender Kumar. They alleged that the officer was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
According to police reports, Narender Kumar, who is currently posted as a reader in the DSP office in Nuh, was subsequently arrested. An FIR has been registered at the Utawad police station.
Sahabuddin, the grieving father from Utawad village, filed a complaint stating that his sons Ayan (11), Ahsan (9), and Arjan (7) were crossing a road after leaving Gariba Public School in Utawad when the car, approaching from Nuh, hit them. Ayan and Ahsan succumbed to their injuries on the spot. Arjan, critically wounded, was initially taken to Nalhar Medical College, Nuh, and later referred to PGIMS Rohtak for advanced treatment.
Villagers recounted that the accused policeman attempted to escape the scene after the accident. However, they pursued his vehicle for approximately 500 meters, forcing him to stop. An angry crowd then surrounded the officer, notifying the police, who arrived and took him into custody.
Locals further claimed that the head constable was visibly inebriated and was provocatively displaying his uniform while arguing with them. The bodies of the deceased children have been sent for post-mortem examination.
