The Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna Authority recently held its fifth pivotal meeting in Bengaluru, presided over by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Vidhana Soudha. The session concluded with the announcement of several significant decisions aimed at fostering development in the region.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave his enthusiastic approval for a substantial grant of ₹28 crore. This considerable funding is specifically allocated for the authority’s development projects planned for the current year, providing a vital financial boost to various initiatives.
A key focus of this funding will be on enhancing the Rayanna Sainik School, situated in Sangolli of Bailhongal taluk, Belagavi district. The Chief Minister issued directives to officials, urging them to elevate the school to the status of a national model Sainik School. He emphasized the importance of thorough quality inspections of the ongoing construction before its official handover. Furthermore, he stressed the need to ensure high-quality education and to provide comprehensive infrastructure, including modern sports facilities, to create an optimal learning environment for students.
In addition to educational advancements, the construction of the Sangolli Rayanna Museum, affectionately known as Veer Bhoomi, is nearing its final stages. Officials were instructed to accelerate the completion process to ensure the museum can be dedicated to the public as swiftly as possible, marking a significant cultural addition.
In a touching directive, the Chief Minister also tasked officials with a crucial historical endeavor: diligently searching for and formally recording the names of the seven brave soldiers of Rani Channamma. These soldiers were tragically hanged by the East India Company alongside Sangolli Rayanna, and this initiative aims to ensure their recognition and place in history.
The meeting saw the attendance of other prominent figures, including Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi, H.M. Revanna, Chairman of the Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, along with various other officials from the authority and senior government officers.
