Garima Saikia Garg, the wife of the late singer Zubeen Garg, has shared a poignant handwritten note penned by him for his devoted fans. This touching gesture comes as the release of his final film, ‘Roi Roi Binale’, draws near. Garima took to Instagram to share a picture that includes a sketch of the beloved singer along with his handwritten words.
The note, written in Assamese, conveys a heartfelt message: “Roi Roi Binale. Mur notun cinema. Sabole aahibo. ‘Morom’. Zubeen da” which translates to, “Roi Roi Binale. My new film. Do come and watch it. ‘With love’.” Sharing the photo, Garima wrote in Assamese, “The letters you wrote on 15th September… A loving appeal to your beloved people!”
Her message continued, revealing the emotional weight of Zubeen’s words: “Every word hits the heart, Goldie! But amongst all this, there’s burning in the empty chest. Another question — what happened on September 19? How, why? I don’t know where there is peace, but I don’t feel like breathing until I get this answer.”
About Zubeen’s Last Film: Roi Roi Binale
Zubeen Garg’s final cinematic venture, ‘Roi Roi Binale’, is slated for release across all theaters in Assam this Friday. Anticipation is exceptionally high, with tickets for all shows reportedly sold out for the upcoming week. News reports suggest that Zubeen’s musical film is expected to surpass previous records and set new benchmarks for Assamese cinema.
Due to the immense emotional response from fans, exhibitors have decided to increase the number of shows for the film. Some cinema owners are planning to screen up to seven shows daily, with screenings starting as early as 4:45 AM and the last show concluding around 2:30 AM.
In ‘Roi Roi Binale’, Zubeen Garg portrays the lead character, a blind musician. The film features 11 songs, all composed by Garg himself, and delves into the life and struggles of the musician. The trailer’s depiction of the musician lying unconscious on a beach, with someone trying to wake him, has drawn parallels to his untimely death.
Zubeen Garg also served as the producer for the film ‘Roi Roi Binale’, a 146-minute musical directed by Rajesh Bhuyan. He produced it alongside Garima and Shyamantak Gautam. The celebrated singer tragically passed away in Singapore on September 19 under mysterious circumstances while swimming in the sea.
