‘Bat-Fam’ Season 1
Starts streaming: Nov. 10
This family-friendly animated superhero romp is a spinoff of the 2023 holiday movie “Merry Little Batman,” in which Bruce Wayne’s young son, Damian (Yonas Kibreab), wore his own costume to be a miniature version of the Dark Knight. The series brings back the voice cast from the film — including Luke Wilson as Batman and James Cromwell as the Waynes’s butler, Alfred — along with the same exaggerated visual design and hyperactive pace. As much a domestic sitcom as it is an action-adventure, “Bat-Fam” integrates splashy supervillain fight scenes into more down-to-earth stories about a loving family of do-gooders, hanging out together in a massive mansion.
‘Malice’ Season 1
Starts streaming: Nov. 14
In this wry revenge thriller, Jack Whitehall plays Adam, a handsome and charming child-care specialist — part tutor, part friend — who makes himself indispensable to the mega-rich venture capitalist Jamie Turner (David Duchovny) and Jamie’s socialite wife, Nat (Carice van Houten). Through a series of crafty maneuvers, Adam goes from being a guest at the Turners’ spectacular Greek vacation estate to looking after their children at their London home. His motives aren’t immediately clear, but over the course of its six episodes, “Malice” gradually reveals the depth of this man’s disdain for the Turner family. The show was created by the accomplished British TV writer James Wood (best-known for the dramedy “Rev.”), who draws viewers in close to Adam, as he springs various sabotages against the backdrop of some fabulously ritzy locations.

‘Pluribus’ Season 1

The “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan reunites with his Emmy-nominated “Better Call Saul” actress Rhea Seehorn for a science-fiction dramedy that bears some similarities to Gilligan’s early work, as a writer-producer on “The X-Files.” Seehorn plays Carol Sturka, a cynical and morose author of best-selling fantasy novels. When a strange event leads to nearly everyone on Earth suddenly becoming happy and cooperative, Carol is one of a handful of humans who remain unaffected. “Pluribus” is full of mysteries and surprises, but the series is primarily driven by one of the most basic questions of existence: Is it better to go along cheerily with the crowd, or is there something about dissent and dissatisfaction that makes people unique and gives life meaning?

‘The Beatles Anthology’
Starts streaming: Nov. 26
This eight-part docuseries was one of the biggest television events of 1995, compiling hours of rare performances and interviews to tell the story of one of the most popular rock bands of all time. For the 30th anniversary of its debut, “The Beatles Anthology” has had its audio and video spruced up by Peter Jackson’s postproduction company Park Road, the team behind the popular “The Beatles: Get Back” from 2021. Fans will also get to see an entirely new ninth episode, which covers what happened when Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr reunited in the ’90s to work on the “Anthology.”

‘I Love L.A.’ Season 1

The actress Rachel Sennott is best known for her performances in the movies “Bottoms” (which she also co-wrote) and “Shiva Baby,” two comedies in which she played women who were equal parts sexually liberated and socially awkward. Sennott carries that same energy into “I Love L.A.,” a TV series she created that follows a group of friends in Los Angeles who are anxious about whether their careers are ever really going to take off. Sennott plays Maia, a low-level publicist who has been watching from afar as her best friend and former client Tallulah (Odessa A’zion) has become a popular influencer and model. When Tallulah unexpectedly comes to visit, Maia sees a chance to boost her own profile — if she can survive her old pal’s chaotic energy and neediness, that is.
‘Eddington’
Starts streaming: Nov. 14
One of the more provocative movies to be released in theaters this year, this aggressively confrontational social drama is set in a small New Mexico town in 2020, amid Covid lockdowns. Joaquin Phoenix plays Joe Cross, a right-wing sheriff who opposes the new restrictions, put in place by the mayor, Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal). The political jostling between these two escalates into mudslinging attacks and actual violence, reflecting the fights going on elsewhere in the United States about race relations, policing, immigration policy and deep state conspiracies. A supporting cast that includes Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Michael Ward and Luke Grimes help put across the acerbic, absurdist vision of the writer-director Ari Aster, acclaimed for his films “Hereditary” and “Midsommar.”
‘One to One: John & Yoko’
Starts streaming: Nov. 14
The second big streaming documentary this month to explore the Beatles archives (joining the Disney+ rerelease of “The Beatles Anthology”), “One to One: John & Yoko” is built around footage from the only full concert John Lennon ever gave as a solo artist. That show — two sets at Madison Square Garden in 1972, headlining a benefit for children — was previously released as an LP and a VHS tape in 1986 as “Live in New York City.” The filmmakers Kevin MacDonald and Sam Rice-Edwards were given access by Lennon’s estate to remastered materials from that show, along with the personal archives of Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono. They have constructed a thoughtful, galvanizing video collage. “One to One” is an exciting mix of music and history, putting the concert in the context of its times: from the inanity of ’70s TV commercials to the global outrage provoked by the Vietnam War.

‘The Ugly Stepsister’

In this darkly satirical, decidedly adult reimagining of “Cinderella,” Lea Myren plays Elvira, who competes with her pretty stepsister Agnes (Thea Sofie Loch Naess) for the attention of a handsome but loutish prince. Elvira undergoes gruesome, invasive beauty treatments — depicted in stomach-turning detail — to try and win over the man whose fortune could save her family. Written and directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, “The Ugly Stepsister” combines elements of body horror and feminist critique, showing sympathy for the lengths to which some women will go to woo a man — but still finding the sick humor in it. The film is also visually stylish, taking the basic form of a lavish period costume drama, but streaked with blood and vomit.

‘Landman’ Season 2
Starts streaming: Nov. 16
The first season of the writer-producer Taylor Sheridan’s Texas oil melodrama “Landman” ended with things very much in flux for the show’s perpetually grouchy protagonist, Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton). As his friend and employer, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), lay on his deathbed, Tommy agreed to take control of their petroleum company M-Tex, to help close a massive deal. Tommy also met a drug cartel boss (Andy Garcia), who offered to ease the company’s tensions with his soldiers along the border — at a cost yet to be determined. Among the questions left to be answered as Season 2 begins is whether Tommy can keep running M-Tex without crossing Monty’s widow and heir, Cami (Demi Moore). As Sheridan moves that story along, he will continue to examine the ways that greed and need affect the business behind one of our most precious natural resources.

‘All Her Fault’ Season 1
Starts streaming: Nov. 6
Adapted from an Andrea Mara novel of the same name, this mystery-thriller wastes no time in jumping straight into its premise. In the opening scene, a Chicago-area mother, Marissa (Sarah Snook), shows up to pick her young son Milo from a play date, only to find that she has been directed to the wrong house — and that her child isn’t there. She later finds out her son has been kidnapped. As an investigation quickly intensifies, Marissa befriends Jenny (Dakota Fanning), another mother from her son’s school, who may know the person who abducted Milo. “All Her Fault” deals with every parent’s fears of having a child go missing; but it’s also about the impossible expectations that society has of mothers, especially if they also have demanding, high-earning jobs that require them to outsource child-care.
