World of Warcraft’s premium cosmetics are quite common, but a recent bundle is making waves due to the sheer volume of items it contains.
Typically, a new cosmetic bundle wouldn’t be big news. Blizzard has consistently offered mounts, pets, helmets, and armor sets for real-world money over the years. Notably, two years ago, they even sold their most expensive WoW mount to date, the Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur, for $90.
However, the new Ascended Regalia Pack is different, and it’s not just its $30 price tag that’s drawing attention. This Spirit Healer-themed collection is remarkable for boasting an incredible 100 individual transmog pieces, including four complete armor sets and 22 unique weapon appearances. Blizzard clearly views this as a significant release, as it’s the first time in recent memory they’ve produced a dedicated trailer for a premium cosmetic bundle. Since all pieces are individual, players have the freedom to mix and match them to craft entirely new looks or integrate them with their existing transmog collections.
While the sheer quantity of appearances is impressive, it’s worth noting that the bundle primarily consists of two distinct armor sets recolored into blue and purple variants, alongside purple and blue versions of various weapons. This detail might temper the initial wow factor slightly, but 100 transmog pieces is still a substantial offering.
It remains to be seen how many players will opt to purchase this bundle, but Blizzard has a proven track record of success with cosmetic and mount sales. An earlier report this year suggested that the aforementioned Brutosaur mount alone may have generated around $15 million in revenue for Blizzard.
In other exciting news for WoW players, Blizzard recently unveiled plans for the upcoming Midnight expansion, slated for an early 2026 release. This expansion will bring a significant overhaul to the game’s transmog system, making it both cheaper and more convenient. Future transmog changes will be linked to item slots rather than individual items, allowing players to easily maintain their preferred aesthetic even as they frequently acquire new gear during leveling or seasonal upgrades. This system will also dramatically reduce transmog costs, as players can create and pay a one-time fee for entire transmog sets instead of incurring gold costs for each individual appearance reapplication.
Beyond transmog, the Midnight expansion promises further enhancements, including a modernization of some of WoW’s existing Blood Elf zones. It will also introduce two brand-new zones, an additional playable Allied Race, and a third specialization for Demon Hunters. Furthermore, player housing will finally make its debut in WoW, with an initial version of this highly requested feature arriving before the end of the current year.
