Western Railway is announcing a significant recruitment drive for Apprentice posts, offering 5,349 opportunities. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online via the official Western Railway recruitment website, rrc-wr.com. The application window opens on February 21, 2026, and closes on March 23, 2026. This is a prime chance for candidates seeking to begin their career in the railway sector.

Key details regarding eligibility criteria, the selection process, and application fees are outlined below:
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these apprentice positions, candidates must have successfully completed their 10th grade (Matriculation) under the 10+2 system, achieving at least 50% aggregate marks. Additionally, applicants need to possess an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in a relevant trade, which must be affiliated with NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training).
The age requirement for applicants is between 15 and 24 years as of March 23, 2026. Age relaxations may apply for reserved categories as per government rules.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on a merit list. This merit list will be compiled by calculating the average score from both the Matriculation (10th grade) marks (with a minimum of 50% aggregate) and the ITI examination marks. Both components will be given equal weightage in the evaluation process.
Application Fee
An application fee of ₹100/- is applicable for general category candidates. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and women applicants are exempted from paying this fee. The fee can be paid online through various methods, including Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, and Internet Banking.
