Get ready, Warzone fans, because Raven Software has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for the coming year! As Season 01 of Black Ops 7 approaches, the team is gearing up to introduce a host of exhilarating new and revamped features to your favorite battle royale. Imagine soaring through the map with grappling hooks or performing gravity-defying wall jumps – these are just some of the experimental mechanics players will soon get to experience!
One of the most anticipated changes is the arrival of a large map rotation for Battle Royale, slated for early next year. Raven Software noted that supporting multiple large maps wasn’t feasible before, but they’ve now implemented the necessary infrastructure to make it a reality. While this exciting feature won’t be available at the Black Ops 7 launch, players can look forward to it in early 2026.
The Resurgence mode is also getting a much-needed revitalization, as Raven admitted it had “started to feel a bit stale.” As part of the refresh, the brand-new Haven’s Hollow map will launch for Resurgence in Season 01, with additional map rotations, including an enhanced version of the beloved Fortune’s Keep, to follow shortly after. Furthermore, Rebirth Island, a fan favorite, is set to receive a significant refresh in Season 02, addressing player feedback.
Speaking of Season 02, it will also mark the debut of the new Blackout experience, taking players to the Avalon map. Raven describes this as a “bold but intentional risk” for the battle royale genre, hoping to inject new life into the game, much like Resurgence did.
The Warzone development team is fully committed to the game’s long-term future, promising more frequent balance updates and a steady stream of innovative additions. This includes an array of limited-time modes designed specifically to test out those groundbreaking experimental features like grappling hooks and wall jumps. Players can anticipate a blend of returning classic modes and entirely fresh experiences to keep the action dynamic and engaging.
