The Valencia region in Spain is currently experiencing torrential weather, a grim echo of the deadly floods that occurred just last year, claiming the lives of over 230 people. A red alert has been issued as Storm Gabrielle makes its impact felt across the area, as well as in Zaragoza in the neighbouring Aragon region. Footage from the affected areas shows significant flooding. According to the meteorological agency AEMET, some parts of the Ebro delta have recorded between 160 and 200mm of rain within a six to eight-hour period. While no injuries have been reported so far, authorities have closed schools, libraries, and parks in Valencia as a precautionary measure.
