### Battlefield 6
Battlefield is making a grand return! Following the mixed reception of Battlefield 2042, EA has assembled an all-star team from Dice, Ripple Effect, Motive, and Criterion under the banner of Battlefield Studios to develop Battlefield 6. As the saying goes, four heads are better than one, and early impressions suggest a ‘swift, skillful course correction’ that promises an ‘exciting return to form’ for the series.
The weapons in Battlefield 6 have undergone a complete redesign, offering refined recoil patterns and improved responsiveness. The flexible class system introduced in 2042 has been further polished to strike a balance between player experimentation and crucial team roles. A notable new feature is Tactical Destruction, integrated into Battlefield 6 maps, allowing for more detailed environmental damage – think blowing doors off buildings rather than entire skyscrapers collapsing. If this sounds like your kind of action, prepare to dive in with the optimal settings to meet Battlefield 6’s system requirements.

### Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
After nearly 19 years, the cult classic bloodsucking RPG finally receives its long-awaited sequel. This new chapter transports us to Seattle, reimagining the city with a crimson-soaked, mysterious atmosphere. You’ll delve into another rich narrative, years after its initial announcement. An extended gameplay trailer showcased the game in action, proving it was well worth the wait.
While the original was celebrated for its narrative, it often struggled with bugs and less-than-stellar combat. Thankfully, Bloodlines 2’s gameplay draws inspiration from immersive sims like Dishonored 2 and Deus Ex, aiming to make its vampiric encounters as compelling as its story. Despite a change in developers causing a delay, fans are more than ready to sink their teeth into it upon arrival.

### The Outer Worlds 2
Obsidian’s acclaimed retro-futuristic role-playing game is getting a follow-up. The initial teaser trailer offered little concrete information, primarily displaying exotic alien landscapes and futuristic combat. However, its humorous, self-aware voiceover openly admitted that ‘the developers haven’t finished the [main character’s] design, or finished the story, or finished any gameplay that’s actually ready to show.’ At least they’re honest! Fortunately, a proper gameplay trailer, accompanied by a release window, was unveiled at the 2024 TGAs.

### Call of Duty Black Ops 7
Fans of first-person shooter games have a feast this year, with two genre titans making an appearance. David Mason from Black Ops 2 returns as the protagonist, set to confront Raul Menendez and The Guild, which has evolved into a formidable defense contractor since the events of Black Ops 6.
This leap into the future naturally brings new, advanced gear. While the dynamic movement from Black Ops 3 won’t make a full return, players can anticipate an evolution of Omnimovement and even wingsuits for specific campaign missions. For multiplayer enthusiasts, rumors suggest the return of several classic maps alongside specialized abilities, and of course, a generous helping of zombies.
