Adventurers, mark your calendars! The much-awaited forest biome for the popular game, Peak, is set to arrive on November 5th. This exciting new environment will be introduced as part of the ‘Roots’ update, a comprehensive content drop teased by developer Landfall.
A brief video shared by Landfall offers a tantalizing glimpse into what players can expect. The new biome promises a dense, atmospheric forest teeming with towering redwood-like trees, winding vines, and impressive wooden structures cleverly integrated into the arboreal landscape. Keep an eye out for player-grabbing spiders lurking in the shadows and various mushrooms dotting the forest floor.
While Landfall has remained tight-lipped on further details across social media and Steam, the community is buzzing with speculation. Players are eager to discover what new badges and challenges will accompany this verdant update. There’s also much discussion about which existing biome this new map will rotate with in the game’s daily updates. The previous major release brought us the mesa biome, a scorching desert plagued by tornadoes, which currently rotates with the alpine biome. Fans are now predicting that the new forest area will replace the tropics biome in the rotation, which is typically encountered after the initial ‘shore’ biome.
Historically, significant updates have also included fresh sets of badges tied to the new biomes. Given the pattern, it’s highly probable that players will have a host of new objectives and collectibles to pursue in the upcoming month, adding another layer of depth and replayability to their Peak experience.
