Ever wondered if Silent Hill f features multiple endings? True to the series’ legacy, this installment delivers several unique conclusions. While the game often conveys deeply traumatic messages, a few endings even offer a surprising twist of fun. Our protagonist, Hinako, faces immense challenges from a young age. Her journey is fraught with a difficult family life, betrayals from friends, the weight of gender discrimination, and the societal expectations placed upon women in 1960s Japan. With the added layer of substance abuse, be prepared for some truly impactful and, at times, difficult-to-watch endings.
Silent Hill f ending explained
Only one primary ending awaits you on your initial playthrough. However, four additional, distinct conclusions can be unlocked exclusively in New Game Plus.
Coming Home to Roost
In the primary ending, Hinako arrives back at her family home, only to be turned away, likely having been married off to Fox Mask. Here, she confronts her inner demons, battling a monstrous manifestation of herself clad in a traditional Japanese wedding kimono. Her cry, “You took everything from me,” suggests that the Hinako players control is a past version of her, before her own marriage but around the time her sister was wed. Marriage, it seems, has taken her sister from her and now her parents, fueling her desperate desire to rewind time.
After what appears to be a victory over her bridal self, young Hinako emerges from the Dark Shrine into a chaotic scene of sirens and flashing lights, only to confront herself once more before the credits roll. This could symbolize that her marriage is an irreversible event, a part of her she can never truly overcome. Her shout, “Get out of our way,” to her future self might allude to herself, her sister, and perhaps even all women battling similar societal constraints.
The post-credits scene shows a police officer detailing a murder suspect at large: a young woman in her 20s, in a wedding dress, presumably Hinako on her wedding day, suffering from a drug-induced mental breakdown. Two male suspects are mentioned, possibly her husband and father, and Hinako is also under suspicion for a prior “wedding massacre.”

- When crossing the bridges over the canal, keep an eye out for a dumpster. Go past the dumpster, and under the archway behind it and to the left.
- Locate the radio in this hidden room and listen to the broadcast.
- Leave, and continue towards the rice fields.
- Before going to Rinko’s house, make your way to the building to the east of the rice fields. Here, there’s a poster for an alien movie.
- Interact with the poster to trigger the first unique cutscene.
- Continue to Rinko’s house, complete the scarecrow field section and the Corridors, and then work back towards the center of Ebisugaoka.
- In this central area, two more movie posters are close together. Make sure to interact with the one in the eastern passageways before the one positioned behind Chizururya.
- Return to Chizururya, where a formidable monster roams. You can either defeat it or deftly dodge its attacks to interact with a scrap of paper found on a table next to a beeping UFO toy. This interaction instantly triggers the alien ending.
By strategically avoiding item collection and minimizing monster encounters, this entire playthrough can be completed in roughly an hour.
Now that you’ve grasped the profound implications of Hinako’s initial ending and the deep trauma she endures, you’re perfectly primed to delve into New Game Plus and uncover the game’s full spectrum of narrative conclusions.
