The wait is over! During today’s PlayStation State of Play livestream, Insomniac Games finally gave us an electrifying new glimpse into their upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game. Adding to the excitement, it was confirmed that Liam McIntyre, known for his role in *Spartacus*, will lend his voice to the iconic mutant.
The action-packed trailer showcased Wolverine clashing with several recognizable foes, including the formidable Omega Red and a towering Sentinel. Mystique also made a captivating appearance, leaving viewers to wonder if she’ll be an ally or adversary. It seems many of Logan’s adversaries will be drawn from the Reavers, a dangerous group of cyborgs with a deep-seated hatred for mutants. Insomniac also tantalizingly revealed that the game’s narrative will span the globe, taking Wolverine from the rugged Canadian wilderness to the bustling streets of Tokyo and the notorious Madripoor.
First announced during the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021, this new trailer marks the first official update for Marvel’s Wolverine since its initial unveiling. Fans may recall that Insomniac Games experienced a significant data breach in December 2023, which unfortunately leaked some early, pre-alpha footage of the game. This official reveal, however, provides a much clearer and more polished look.
Insomniac has promised more details about Wolverine next spring, with the full game expected to launch on PlayStation 5 in fall 2026. Get ready for an epic adventure!
This reveal was part of the broader PlayStation State of Play September 2025 event, which featured many other significant announcements and game reveals.
