Adam Warlock

If you thought Adam Warlock was powerful in the comics, wait until you see him in-game! This protective light-wielder can heal allies, deal damage, and shield himself within his quantum cocoon. What truly makes him a standout is his game-changing team-wide resurrection ability, a mechanic that once made Overwatch’s Mercy an indispensable support.

Angela

Aldrif Odinsdottir, also known as Angela, is the firstborn daughter of Odin and Freyja and rightful heir to Asgard. In the Marvel Rivals narrative, she was pulled into a collapsing universe and now joins the roster. An airborne Vanguard, Angela masterfully wields a spear and axe, serving as a disruptive force. She can swiftly charge targets, pulling them into her team’s grasp. Her ultimate, Heven’s Retribution, delivers a large Area-of-Effect (AoE) root, creating massive combo potential with heroes like Thor and others with powerful AoE abilities.

Black Panther

T’Challa, the Black Panther, brings unmatched agility to the battlefield. He uses his advanced suit to rapidly traverse the map, addressing threats head-on. With his signature claws, he excels in close-quarters combat.

Black Widow

The master assassin, super spy, and world-class marksman, Black Widow leaves her indelible mark on the battlefield. Equipped with a range of gear and a substantial sniper rifle, this ranged character can control the flow of a fight from the backline, effortlessly picking off opponents.

Blade

A true master Duelist, Blade enters the fray armed with a shotgun and his trusted Ancestral Sword, ready to slice through any adversary. As a primary close-range fighter, his Bloodline Awakening ability grants him enhanced movement speed, allowing him to quickly close distances against ranged characters.

Captain America

Joining his on-again, off-again best friend, the Winter Soldier, Captain America arrives with his iconic shield. He charges onto the battlefield, shield-first, adept at blocking incoming attacks and projectiles. His shield also doubles as a formidable projectile, capable of interrupting enemy abilities when precisely timed.

Cloak and Dagger

With Cloak and Dagger, you get two heroes in one! Forever linked after a disastrous illegal drug test, this duo has seen many iterations – sometimes vigilantes, sometimes at odds. They operate as a single unit; even when Cloak succumbs to the inherent darkness, Dagger is always there to offer support. They embody a unique dynamic on the battlefield.

Daredevil

The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is here to shake things up. Though Matt Murdock is physically blind, his enhanced senses allow him to perceive far more than any ordinary human. In combat, his ability to assess and tag enemy locations is incredibly valuable in team settings, while his kit offers ample combo and gap-closing opportunities. You might not see Daredevil coming, but he’ll definitely see you.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is a master of the mystic arts, capable of flinging spells, whipping foes, and using his cape for aerial traversal. The former neurosurgeon expertly wields his arcane powers to gain a tactical advantage in battle.

Emma Frost

The White Queen has made her grand entrance, debuting as a powerful Vanguard. Similar to Cloak & Dagger, Emma Frost features two distinct forms: human and diamond, each with unique movesets. In her human form, Emma Frost can unleash an Iron Man-style primary beam and deploy a diamond totem that functions somewhat like Moon Knight’s Ankh. She can also project a barrier to aid allies, similar to Invisible Woman, though her barrier appears to be untargeted. In her diamond form, Emma Frost transforms into a brawler, trading psychic beams for crystalline fists of fury. She can grab enemies and kick them away. Her ultimate ability is an AoE mind control that compels enemies to walk towards her while suffering damage over time.

Groot

Groot’s twisting roots can ensnare enemies, while his spiked thorns inflict AoE damage. He can also erect protective walls for his allies. By mastering the balance between offense and defense, Groot becomes an invaluable asset to any team.

Hawkeye

Clint Barton makes his debut in Marvel Rivals with a notably cooler design. Players familiar with hero shooters will quickly grasp Hawkeye’s playstyle, featuring a lethal bow and arrow that deals immense damage with critical headshots. He also uses a sword to deflect incoming projectiles and can push enemies off platforms. Hawkeye’s ultimate grants him instant, rapid-fire arrows, allowing for a torrent of attacks.

Hela

As the Goddess of Death, Hela commands supreme control over the fallen souls of Hel. With a chilling whisper and a swarm of crows, the queen of the underworld mercilessly reaps the souls of her enemies, displaying no hint of remorse.

Hulk

The Hulk functions as a dynamic hybrid character, reminiscent of D.Va from other hero shooters. He can switch between his Bruce Banner persona and his powerful Hulk form, smashing through enemies with colossal, overwhelming fists.

Human Torch

Johnny Storm, the aerial DPS powerhouse, is bringing the heat! He can rain down fire on enemies and link fireballs to create a blazing containment field before crashing down into it with full force. His ultimate team-up ability with Storm transforms her abilities into a formidable firestorm.

Invisible Woman

After being exposed to cosmic radiation alongside the Fantastic Four, Susan Storm gained the power to generate forcefields and, as her name implies, turn invisible. This cunning Strategist is one of the more challenging Marvel Rivals characters to master. However, if you can skillfully alternate between providing protective shielding for your allies and utilizing invisibility, you’ll become an absolute nightmare for opponents to pin down.

Iron Fist

When Lin Lie is bestowed with the power of the Iron Fist, his mission to protect K’un-Lun from the Timestream Entanglement begins. Iron Fist is an exceptional duelist, utilizing his mastery of martial arts to overpower any opponent in a one-on-one confrontation.

Iron Man

Iron Man leverages his repulsor blasts to reach advantageous positions that are inaccessible to many other characters, allowing him to launch attacks from above. Flanking and establishing unique angles of attack are crucial for maximizing the effectiveness of this agile DPS character.

Jeff the Land Shark

Who is Jeff the Land Shark, you ask? This adorable little shark has certainly had an adventurous life, from being adopted by Gwenpool to spending time with Deadpool and later Kate Bishop. Though not the most famous hero on the Marvel Rivals roster, he is undeniably the cutest.

Loki

Loki, the Norse god of mischief, excels at deception and trickery. He can morph into opponents to mimic their abilities, creating chaos on the battlefield. Similar to Invisible Woman, Loki uses invisibility to his advantage, deploying decoys to divert attention while he repositions to either heal his team or ambush his enemies.

Luna Snow

Luna Snow harnesses her ice abilities to freeze enemies and uses her skating agility to evade dangerous situations. She can seamlessly switch between a healing aura and a damage-boosting aura, functioning similarly to Lucio from Overwatch.

Magik

Magik’s sword is a fearsome weapon, and she can transform into a more powerful form to enhance her damage output. As a formidable sorceress, Illyana Rasputin disrupts her opponents with a variety of powerful spells.

Magneto

As the leader of the Mutant Brotherhood, Magneto wields magnetism to his advantage on the battlefield. This tanky character can absorb incoming damage and redirect it to harm his enemies, making him a resilient force.

Mantis

Mantis joins the roster as another support superhero from the Guardians of the Galaxy universe. She utilizes the power of emotion to both inflict damage and protect her allies, all while employing her masterful martial arts skills.

Mister Fantastic

Reed Richards, often overshadowed by Banner and Stark in the MCU, rounds out the genius trio in the comics and then some. In Marvel Rivals, his ever-expanding intellect isn’t his only threat; his stretchy body can clobber enemies from a distance, apply crowd control, and even block projectiles before sending them right back. That’s a versatile Duelist!

Moon Knight

Marc Spector, avatar of the Egyptian Moon God Khonshu, enters the battle armed with ancient weaponry. Wielding crescent darts, Moon Knight can easily hurl sharp objects at opponents, and he’s equipped with a moon blade for any enemies who get too close. Moon Knight’s ultimate opens a portal to space, allowing him to rain Khonshu’s wrath upon anyone directly beneath it.

Namor

Namor’s deadly trident allows him to command water itself, using it to force enemies into vulnerable positions, setting them up perfectly for allies to exploit with their damage and abilities.

Peni Parker

Peni Parker, a hero from the Spider-Verse, joins the roster. Originally conceived by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, she pilots a psychically powered mech suit called SP//dr to attack foes and absorb increased incoming damage.

Phoenix

Move over, Human Torch, because the new hottest property on the Marvel Rivals roster has arrived. Jean Grey has merged with the Phoenix in this timeline, immensely bolstering her already formidable psychic powers and her capacity to harness the Phoenix Force.

Psylocke

Equipped with a diverse range of weaponry, Psylocke brings a killer arsenal to combat enemies at any range. She can instantly close gaps in a fight with her dash, a powerful tool for ambushing opponents. Furthermore, Psylocke can temporarily turn invisible, allowing her to navigate undetected through enemy lines for strategic attacks.

The Punisher

Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher, is a violent vigilante who truly lives up to his name in Marvel Rivals as a formidable damage dealer. Easy to pick up and play, The Punisher is essentially Marvel Rivals’ answer to Overwatch’s Soldier 76, capable of switching between two weapons, deploying smoke, and spawning a turret.

The Thing

It’s clobberin’ time! A rock-solid Vanguard, The Thing combines immense tankiness with powerful, brawling fists, making him a one-person army. Ben has a standard punch, a charged punch, a rush that knocks up foes and provides shielding, a big leap, and a ground smash ultimate that sends rocks and enemies flying. Like Hulk, The Thing can perform a “fastball special” with Wolverine, tossing him into battle for an entertaining display of power.

Rocket Raccoon

Rocket Raccoon’s fiery weapons unleash blasts and burns on opposing teams, regardless of their size. Rocket can switch between abilities that deal damage and those that both heal and boost the damage of his allies, offering versatile support.

Scarlet Witch

A true powerhouse from the comics, Scarlet Witch, or Wanda Maximoff, effortlessly keeps pace with the game’s heavy hitters. If you’re looking for a comparison to Overwatch, she’s a damage-dealing version of Moira. Able to wield chaos magic to siphon energy from nearby enemies, charge more potent attacks, and hover across the map, Scarlet Witch is a terrifying opponent.

Squirrel Girl

While many Marvel Rivals characters boast flashy, destructive powers, Doreen Green possesses the powers of the common squirrel – yet she should not be underestimated! The unbeatable Squirrel Girl wields a slingshot and commands a small army of squirrels, ready to take down anyone who dares challenge her.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man is one of the most instantly recognizable superheroes in Marvel Rivals. His renowned agility allows him to swing across the battlefield, quickly and efficiently securing the most advantageous positions. His webs can also be used to hinder opponents’ movement, making him a versatile combatant.

Star-Lord

Peter Quill delights in dazzling his enemies on the battlefield with his signature swagger. His element guns unleash arcs of devastation, while his acrobatic maneuvers propel him through the sky with unmatched style. With performances this spectacular, it’s no surprise that Star-Lord is so legendary!

Storm

Storm, an iconic member of the X-Men, controls the elements to inflict damage and support her team with damage or speed buffs. This unique Duelist stands out as a powerful support-DPS hybrid.

Thor

Ah, the God of Thunder himself. Thor’s inclusion in the launch roster was no surprise, though his trickster brother managed to appear before him. Armed with his trusty Mjolnir and the ability to channel lightning, Thor can conjure a storm of devastation on the battlefield.

Ultron

The Age of Ultron arrived in Season 2.5, and this rogue creation truly embodies the ‘AI villain’ trope. Despite operating as a Strategist, Ultron is a veritable harmacist, deploying his army of drones to harass enemies while simultaneously protecting his allies.

Venom

Everyone’s favorite malefic symbiote is here! Venom is the ideal Vanguard if you seek a blend of mobility and crowd control. He can grab multiple enemies at once and swing high above combatants before unleashing a Diving Strike, knocking up anyone caught in its path.

Winter Soldier

Equipped with his specialized vibranium arm, the Winter Soldier is an aggressive character. He can pull enemies from across the battlefield with a grapple-like ability, and his metal arm delivers a powerful uppercut. His arm can even manifest symbiote-like tentacles to whip foes. To top it off, he carries a potent pistol, ready to blast anyone who gets too close.

Wolverine

Everyone’s favorite bad-tempered amnesiac has found a new home in Marvel Rivals. Wolverine relies on his razor-sharp claws and unbridled aggression to overpower enemies, with his incredible regeneration ensuring his survival against any opposition. Continuing a long-standing comic tradition, Wolverine also has a “fastball special” team-up ability, with the Hulk capable of launching him into the thick of battle.
