Ultraviolette Automotive, based in Bengaluru, has officially unveiled its groundbreaking Ultraviolette X47 Crossover electric motorcycle in India. This highly anticipated e-bike enters the market with an attractive introductory price of Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom). However, prospective buyers should note that this special pricing is for a limited period, after which it will increase to Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom). The initial launch prices apply to the 7.1kWh variant, with details for the higher-capacity battery option to be revealed at a later date. Enthusiasts eager to get their hands on this innovative machine can place bookings online or through their nearest dealership, with deliveries scheduled to commence in October 2025.
Adding to its appeal, Ultraviolette has also launched a unique X47 Desert Wing edition. This variant sports a distinctive sand-inspired paint scheme and comes pre-equipped with a suite of touring-focused accessories. Beyond this special edition, a comprehensive range of official accessories will be available for all buyers, including practical panniers, robust knuckle guards, essential crash protection, and versatile soft luggage options. Powering the X47 are two battery choices, mirroring those found in the F77 series. The standard 7.1kWh unit offers a certified 211km IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range, while a larger 10.3kWh pack significantly extends the range to an impressive 323km IDC. The high-performance variant of the X47 boasts a formidable 30kW (40.2hp) peak power and 100Nm of torque, translating to an astonishing 610Nm at the rear wheel. This potent combination allows the bike to rocket from 0 to 60 kph in a mere 2.7 seconds, hit 100 kph in just 8.1 seconds, and achieve a thrilling top speed of 145 kph (all figures are claimed by the manufacturer).
A notable innovation on the X47 is its new 1.6kW onboard charger, touted by Ultraviolette as the world’s most power-dense air-cooled unit. While this promises efficient charging, specific charging times are still under wraps. Underpinning its robust performance, the X47 features a sophisticated hardware setup, including a 41mm USD (Upside Down) fork at the front and a rear monoshock, both providing a generous 170mm of suspension travel for superior handling and comfort. Stopping power is delivered by Bybre, with a substantial 320mm disc brake at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. With a commanding ground clearance of 208mm, the X47 is built on a brand-new chassis that incorporates a cast-aluminium subframe and a sleeker swingarm compared to its F77 counterpart, ensuring both durability and agility.
Feature-wise, the Ultraviolette X47 truly stands out with its standard-fit radar technology across both variants. Dubbed ‘Hypersense,’ this advanced 77GHz rear-facing radar system dramatically boosts rider awareness by continuously monitoring the motorcycle’s surroundings. Ultraviolette states that Hypersense provides a wide 150-degree horizontal and 68-degree vertical field of view, capable of tracking objects up to 200 meters away. This intelligent system not only actively monitors blind spots but also alerts the rider to potential dangers through clear notifications on the main display and illuminated strips integrated into the mirrors. Furthermore, during lane changes, Hypersense diligently scans for oncoming hazards and provides timely warnings about rapidly approaching vehicles, significantly enhancing road safety.
Expanding on its safety capabilities, the Hypersense radar also incorporates rear-collision detection. By precisely calculating the speed of traffic approaching from behind, it can issue critical alerts on the instrument cluster and automatically activate hazard lights if an imminent impact risk is detected. To further enhance both safety and convenience, the X47 features an integrated dual-camera dashcam system, powered by a high-quality Sony sensor. Both front and rear cameras record crystal-clear 1080p video at 30 frames per second, each offering a wide 120-degree field of view. Riders can easily review recorded footage on a secondary display conveniently located above the 5-inch TFT cluster. For storage, the system comes with 32GB onboard as standard, expandable up to a generous 256GB.
The X47 introduces a revamped instrument cluster design that seamlessly integrates with an eSIM, unlocking a suite of connected features. These include crucial theft alerts, precise remote tracking capabilities, and comprehensive ride analytics to give riders deeper insights into their journeys. For enhanced control and safety, the rider assistance package comprises a three-level traction control system, dual-channel switchable ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), and advanced dynamic stability control, ensuring a secure and confident riding experience.
