Electronic Arts has unveiled an action-packed gameplay trailer for the inaugural season of post-launch content for Battlefield 6. The game’s highly anticipated Season 1 officially kicks off on October 28, introducing the sprawling new ‘Blackwell Fields’ map, alongside a dynamic new multiplayer mode, an array of powerful weapons, and advanced vehicles. Since its launch on October 10 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, Battlefield 6 has already achieved remarkable success, selling over seven million copies in just three days.
The Battlefield 6 Season 1 trailer, released by EA on Wednesday via their social media channels, delivers a cinematic glimpse into the explosive gameplay awaiting players on the new ‘Blackwell Fields’ map. This map is set to debut on October 28 as part of the season’s initial phase. The trailer also briefly showcases ‘Eastwood,’ a smaller map planned for release later in November as part of Season 1’s second content phase.
Battlefield 6 Season 1 Details: What to Expect
The first phase of content, aptly named ‘Rogue Ops,’ is set to launch later this month. The ‘Blackwell Fields’ map, a centerpiece of this update, is designed to support all combat scales and vehicle types. It is dramatically situated at an American air base nestled within the rugged California badlands. Visually striking, the map features a fiery landscape dotted with oil wells, making it an ideal arena for large-scale warfare.
Beyond the new map, ‘Rogue Ops’ introduces ‘Strikepoint,’ a brand-new close-quarters multiplayer mode. In this intense 4v4 mode, two squads battle it out to capture an objective across multiple rounds, with each player getting only one life per round, demanding tactical precision and teamwork.
Season 1 also expands the game’s arsenal with the addition of the powerful SOR-300C carbine rifle, the precise Mini Fix sniper rifle, and the reliable GGH-22 sidearm, complemented by two new weapon attachments to customize your loadout. Furthermore, ‘Rogue Ops’ will introduce the Armored Personnel Carrier Mark 2 land vehicle, providing crucial infantry support on the battlefield.
The initial Season 1 update will be rolled out on October 28, followed by the second phase drops on November 18. The third and final phase of the season, titled ‘Winter Offensive,’ is slated for release on December 9.
Since its October 10 launch across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, Battlefield 6 has been hailed by EA as the “biggest launch in franchise history,” marking it as a “record-breaking success.” The game has successfully sold over seven million copies across all platforms.
This military shooter has also quickly ascended to become one of the most played games on Steam, recording a peak concurrent player count exceeding 700,000. According to data from a leading markets research firm, Battlefield 6 alone accounted for over 3.5 million sales on Steam.
