Since its launch in 2023, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has seen several exciting additions, including a New Game+ mode, enhanced parkour, a permadeath option, and a PS5 Pro patch. But prepare for an even bigger adventure next month, as Ubisoft is set to release a massive free DLC expansion: Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory.
A trailer for the new content was revealed:
This expansion was announced during a special stream commemorating the game’s second anniversary. ‘Valley of Memory’ promises approximately six hours of additional story and gameplay, delving into a new narrative where Basim embarks on a quest to find his father, who may still be alive. His journey takes him to AlUla, an ancient valley teeming with dangerous men and treacherous thieves.
Players can anticipate a wealth of new content, including fresh assassination missions and side quests. Basim will also have the opportunity to play the oud, collecting music sheets by overcoming various parkour challenges. Ubisoft has also hinted at an exciting, unique take on the classic ‘black box missions,’ leaving fans eager for more details.
Alongside the expansion, a significant update will be rolled out, further refining the parkour system and introducing replayable missions and challenges. Players can also look forward to two new difficulty settings and expanded customization options for skills and tools, allowing them to reach even higher levels of mastery.
Interestingly, reports suggest that the ‘Valley of Memory’ expansion received funding and support from Savvy Games, a company owned by the government of Saudi Arabia. This follows a trend of Saudi Arabian investment in various video game entities, including Nintendo and the acquisition of Niantic’s video game division (creators of Pokémon Go). Saudi investors are also reportedly involved in a staggering $55 billion deal to privatize EA.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory is slated for release on November 18. Earlier this year, the game also introduced a ‘Discovery Tour’ feature as a free mobile app. For fans of the broader series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows received its own New Game+ mode last summer. Meanwhile, rumors continue to swirl about a potential modern remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, though current speculation suggests this version might omit the present-day sequences.
