This week, Ubisoft is rolling out the celebratory red carpet for the 30th anniversary of its iconic Heroes of Might & Magic series. As a special treat for fans and newcomers alike, two highly-acclaimed classic entries in the franchise are now available on PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
During Ubisoft’s special 30th Anniversary Showcase, the publisher officially announced that Heroes of Might & Magic II: Gold and Heroes of Might & Magic III: Complete have joined the extensive Game Pass library. Chris Watters, a former GameSpot editor now with Ubisoft, remarked on the announcement, saying, “I can think of no better way to teach a new generation the meaning of key words like throng, necromancy, and logistics.”
The showcase also provided a look at the upcoming title, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, though fans will have to wait a bit longer as its release has been pushed to 2026. However, an exclusive demo is currently available for players to experience a taste of the future. This highly anticipated game marks the first new entry in the series since Might & Magic Heroes 7 launched back in 2015.
Beyond the game announcements, the livestream highlighted the Heroes of Might & Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective book, which can be preordered for $55 ahead of its November 25 release.
In related gaming industry news, Laura Fryer, an original member of the Xbox team, recently voiced her strong disapproval of Microsoft’s recent Game Pass price increase, calling it a “betrayal” of player trust. She suggested that this generation of Xbox consoles might primarily be remembered for what she described as “Microsoft’s greed.”
