Actress Triptii Dimri, who recently garnered significant attention for her performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal,’ has shared candid insights into her journey in Bollywood. In a recent interview, Dimri discussed the challenges she faced as an outsider in the industry and revealed that her biggest hurdle wasn’t facing the camera, but rather the audition process itself.
“It’s the same challenge for everybody,” Dimri explained, recounting the rigorous audition phase that lasted for about a year and a half. “There are different phases you go through… sometimes three or four in a day. Auditions actually freak me out more than facing the camera, because you usually get just one or two takes, and you’re in front of so many people. You’re expected to fully become a character, even with very little briefing, and still bring it all to life.”
She further elaborated on the constant need for reinvention, stating, “When you get work, you have to constantly bring freshness to your work, so that your audiences don’t get bored with your performance, and you don’t get bored with performing. That’s the new challenge now – keeping the work fresh and exciting.” Dimri also expressed gratitude for the opportunities she’s received, acknowledging that many talented individuals haven’t yet had the same chances.
Dimri’s career began with ‘Poster Boys’ in 2017, followed by roles in ‘Laila Majnu,’ ‘Bulbbul,’ and ‘Qala.’ Her breakthrough came with ‘Animal,’ and she was most recently seen in Dharma Productions’ ‘Dhadak 2,’ which recently premiered on Netflix.
