In a devastating overnight assault, Russian forces targeted the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy, resulting in injuries to eleven civilians, among them four innocent children. Ukrainian emergency services confirmed the tragic toll on Friday, October 31, 2025.
The Sumy region, strategically located along Ukraine’s border with Russia, has endured an unending barrage of drone and missile attacks, making it a hotspot in the ongoing conflict.
Reports from the emergency services, shared via Telegram, detailed the widespread damage, noting that a multi-storey residential building, several private homes, and vital infrastructure facilities were hit during the strikes.
Adding to the destruction, local Governor Ihor Kalchenko disclosed that a railway depot was also targeted, with multiple train carriages obliterated and surrounding buildings severely damaged in the attack.
