The devastating flood had stranded numerous families and laborers in temporary housing and work camps across Bhutan, prompting immediate and urgent intervention.
Initially, Drukair, Bhutan’s national airline, faced challenges deploying its helicopters due to severe weather conditions. In response, Bhutan promptly reached out to India for crucial assistance.

Without hesitation, the Indian Army rapidly deployed two helicopters. These aircraft successfully airlifted the stranded individuals to safety, where they received urgent medical attention.
