With The Outer Worlds 2 just two weeks from launch, Microsoft and Obsidian Entertainment are dialing up the anticipation with a truly unique reveal: the Moon Man Couch-Panion. What started as a hilarious concept is now a very real, very peculiar plushie, as showcased in the video below.
According to an official description, this isn’t merely merchandise. It’s described as “a lifestyle choice. A statement piece. A co-pilot for every late-night quest and awkward snack run. It’s satire you can hug–and proof that The Outer Worlds 2 lives beyond the game.”
Standing at a formidable three feet tall, the Moon Man Couch-Panion boasts some rather unique features. Its head doubles as a popcorn bucket holder, its hands are bizarrely squishy stress balls, and it even comes with straps to secure your TV remote and Xbox Wireless Controller. With a face that could only be loved by a ghoul, this plushie is definitely… distinctive. While you won’t find these strange companions in stores, a lucky few fans will have the chance to win one for themselves.
From now until November 16, Microsoft is hosting a contest where ten fortunate individuals can snag their very own Moon Man Couch-Panion. Entering is easy: on X (formerly Twitter), simply follow the official Xbox account and repost their original contest announcement using the hashtag #MoonManSweepstakes. Instagram users can participate by following Xbox on that platform and commenting on the official contest post with the same hashtag.
In other Outer Worlds 2 news, Microsoft recently showcased a range of limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controllers. These customizable controllers are available at a price point exceeding the game’s standard $70 cost.
The Outer Worlds 2 is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 29, and will be a day-one release for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Obsidian also confirmed that early-access players can begin their adventures on October 24.
