It’s hard to believe, but we’re already approaching the grand finale of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2‘s post-launch journey! Following its massive debut in February, Warhorse Studios has swiftly delivered its planned content, and now, they’ve revealed the November release date for ‘Mysteria Ecclesiae’ – the game’s third and concluding story DLC. Get ready for Henry’s ultimate adventure in KCD2, as the enigmatic Sedletz Monastery unveils new secrets, and our hero must assist a renowned healer in finding the remedy for a perplexing ailment.
The name ‘Mysteria Ecclesiae’ has been circulating for a while, and the studio’s community manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, even hinted at players “curing medieval Covid” alongside the monastery’s resident monks during Gamescom. Now, the full details are out, accompanied by an exhilarating new trailer that perfectly sets the stage for this epic swansong.
In this final chapter of one of the finest RPGs available, Henry steps into the shoes of an assistant to Sigismund Albicus, a celebrated healer with direct connections to King Wenceslas himself. His mission? A covert undertaking to not only unearth the origins of a mysterious disease but also to mend the growing rifts within the monastery’s community.
While the previous expansion, ‘Legacy of the Forge,’ introduced new mechanics and a customizable home base, ‘Mysteria Ecclesiae’ seems to focus more on delivering a powerful narrative experience rather than fresh gameplay systems. However, Warhorse assures us that Henry’s detective and investigative abilities will still be put to the ultimate test.
Access to the Sedletz Monastery itself will be gradually unlocked as you progress through the various quest stages, so you won’t be able to explore its entirety from the get-go. This new DLC also offers a final boost to Henry’s capabilities, with a new outfit, weapon, useful potions, and ancient books all waiting to be discovered.
Seriously, turn up the volume and watch the ‘Mysteria Ecclesiae’ trailer – the music alone is enough to stir the soul!
The ‘Mysteria Ecclesiae’ DLC for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is set to launch on Tuesday, November 11. If you’re a proud owner of the Gold Edition of the game, this exciting expansion will be yours on day one, at no additional cost.
This marks Henry’s final chapter for now – at least until a potential ‘Kingdom Come Deliverance 3’ or an unexpected spin-off. Warhorse’s rapid release schedule for these expansions might seem unusual, but as Stolz-Zwilling explained last August, the studio is eager to move on to fresh projects.
“We want to conclude Henry’s story here,” he stated. “That doesn’t signify the end of the Kingdom Come Deliverance IP forever. We truly feel at home crafting immersive RPGs. A reviewer for KCD2 once remarked that it felt like we picked up the RPG torch left behind by someone else, and we absolutely cherish that comparison. So, immersive RPGs are our passion, whether set in space, underwater, or anywhere else – that’s the experience we aim to create and perfect.”
