The fashion world gathered in Milan for the spring/summer 2026 collection show by Giorgio Armani, a poignant event marking the final collection personally overseen by the legendary Italian designer before his passing. Originally planned to celebrate 50 years of his iconic fashion house, the show transformed into a heartfelt tribute following Armani’s death at the age of 91.
Held at the esteemed Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery, where over 120 of his designs were showcased, the event saw a remarkable turnout of stars. Attendees included acclaimed actors Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, and Richard Gere, alongside other notable figures like Samuel L Jackson, James Norton, Toni Servillo, Zhang Ziyi, and Spike Lee. The atmosphere was filled with emotion and remembrance.

Models who had graced Armani’s runways over the past five decades returned to the catwalk, presenting a stunning array of his signature classic suits and dazzling dresses. The collection drew inspiration from Milan, the city Armani called home, and Pantelleria, the small volcanic island where he owned a holiday house, with the garments reflecting the light, earth, and sea in muted tones of neutrals, greens, blues, and purples.
The show concluded with a particularly touching moment as model Agnese Zogla wore the final dress – a shimmering blue gown that subtly featured an image of Armani’s face, prompting a standing ovation from the 700 guests. The brand noted that this collection, the last personal work of Giorgio Armani, represented a beautiful cycle coming to a close, making way for new beginnings.

Adding to the star-studded affair, acclaimed actresses Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, currently filming the sequel to ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ were also present, observed in the front row at the Dolce & Gabbana show. Streep, who plays the iconic Miranda Priestly, loosely inspired by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, is in Milan as part of the film’s production.
The event also featured a performance by pianist Ludovico Einaudi and was attended by Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, marking the close of Milan Fashion Week.
