Application Fees and Eligibility
The application fee for General, OBC, and EWS candidates is ₹100. SC, ST, ESM, and all female candidates are exempted from application fees. Corrections to the application, if needed, will incur charges: ₹200 for the first time and ₹500 for the second time. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any stream and be between 20-25 years of age as of 01 August 2024. Male candidates applying for Delhi Police Sub-Inspector roles must hold a valid driving license at the time of the physical tests.
Selection Process and Exam Structure
The selection process involves several stages: Tier-I Written Exam (Objective Type CBT), Physical Endurance Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST), Tier-II Written Exam (Objective Type CBT), Document Verification, and a Medical Examination. The Tier-I exam comprises 200 questions across General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension, each carrying 50 marks, with a total duration of 2 hours. Tier-II focuses on English Language and Comprehension with 200 questions for 200 marks, also with a 2-hour duration. Negative marking of 1/4th is applicable for incorrect answers in both tiers.
Physical Standards
Physical requirements include specific height and chest measurements for male and female candidates, with relaxations for ST candidates. Detailed PET standards for sprinting, long jump, high jump, and shot put (for males) are also outlined to assess candidates’ physical fitness.
