The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is opening the much-awaited exam city selection window for the SSC CHSL Exam 2025 today, October 22, 2025. This is a crucial step for candidates who wish to appear for the Tier 1 of the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSLE) Exam. You can access this feature on the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in.
The candidate portal for city preference will be active starting today, October 22, and will remain open until October 28, 2025. During this period, you can log in to your candidate portal and select up to three preferred cities for your exam.
Once logged in, you will be presented with the available exam slots based on the cities you indicated during your application. You can then choose a specific date and shift that suits you best.
It’s important to note that if all slots in your initially chosen three cities are already filled, the SSC will offer you a list of alternative cities where slots are still available. In such cases, the commission will assign a city on a best-effort basis, though specific date and shift choices might not be guaranteed.
The Tier 1 examination for the CHSLE 2025 is set to begin on November 12, 2025. The exam will feature objective-type, multiple-choice questions. The question paper will be available in English, Hindi, and any other language you selected in your application form. Be aware that there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer. For more detailed information, please refer to the official SSC website.
