The LEGO Disney collection continues to be one of the most sought-after themes this year. With a wide array of sets inspired by beloved animated classics and Pixar films, these builds attract both children and adult Disney enthusiasts. However, these premium sets often come with a hefty price tag, making any significant discount a noteworthy event.
Currently, Target is hosting a notable LEGO sale, featuring 20% off on many sets. Among these, the ‘Up’ House set stands out with an astonishing discount of nearly 50% off its original retail price. This represents one of the most substantial price drops we’ve observed for this particular build. Interestingly, Amazon has already depleted its stock at a similar price point. If you’re looking for an affordable and cherished Disney gift before the Black Friday rush, this deal is definitely worth your attention.
The LEGO ‘Up’ House: An Unmissable Deal at Target
Our in-house LEGO expert, Kevin Wong, had the pleasure of assembling this set upon its initial release for Disney’s 100th anniversary. Overall, he found the building experience enjoyable. His primary feedback was that, while designed as a commemorative display piece, the set lacked some of the intricate detail expected from such an item. The front of the house perfectly captures the spirit of the ‘Up’ movie, but the back is open and doesn’t feature all the hidden gems and Easter eggs you might find in more elaborate sets, like the LEGO Beauty and the Beast Castle. With 598 pieces, it’s a project that can be completed in a single afternoon. At its current discounted price, any minor aesthetic critiques are easily overlooked.
Beyond the charming house itself, the set includes three iconic minifigures: Carl Fredricksen, Russell, and, of course, everyone’s favorite talking dog, Dug. With an age recommendation of 9+, this Disney LEGO set is an excellent choice for a broad audience of Pixar fans. While it might not be a highly complex adult LEGO set, its delightful design makes it a cool addition to any shelf or desk. Thanks to its open-back design and beloved minifigures, it also functions wonderfully as a fun playset for younger builders.
Should You Wait for Black Friday?
With Black Friday sales right around the corner, deciding the optimal time to purchase can be tricky. While November is generally considered the best month for LEGO deals, it doesn’t apply equally to every single set. Considering this, we recommend grabbing the ‘Up’ House at its current price. While a deeper discount during Black Friday is a possibility, LEGO sales are often dictated by current stock levels, and given that Amazon has already sold out, waiting might mean missing out entirely.
